Here's a typical rock liner from Newark, NJ that was probably cleaned a few times. The normal depth for these 4x6 rock liners is 7 feet as seen in the photo. You can also notice there is 2-3 feet of newer soil accumulated above the liner making the total depth about 9- 10 feet to the bottom. This one had a building foundation going right through the middle of this pit and another one that was in the area. The other pit was stone liner that contained some Haley's Pop Beers, hutches and 1880's sodas.
