I've always been fascinated by early American medicine bottles, the older, cruder and rarer, the better. I began collecting antique bottles in 1972 but did not acquire my first colored pontil example until 1991. That bottle was a beautiful Kimball's Jaundice Bitters, Troy, NH and I purchased it from the Rose Sale auction that was held by Harmer Rooke Galleries on 57th Street in New York City.

This bottle was once owned by Roger Long and was sold at auction in 2019. It sits at the pinnacle of the colored pontil medicine category.
